I'm going to go out on a limb here and make a prediction: Bush will carry Oklahoma with over 60% of the vote. I feel pretty safe there. My other prediction is this: If Bush wins it will eventually damage the Republican party. Not completely, but it will fracture the alliance between the evangelicals and the conservatives in the party. I say this because the seams are already starting to show separation. After four years of Bush the true conservatives are wondering when they are going to see some of their core issues brought forward. This is especially true of spending issues where Bush has completely ignored any pleas to keep spending in check. He has run under cover of 9-11 and the "War on Terror" for the last couple of years but if he does not make a move early in his next administration to cut spending there will be howls emanating from deep within the Libertarian/Conservative wing of the party. A Toyota commercial just let me know that a new Toyota truck was the cure for "feeling inadequate". I'm so glad that they let me know that the key to getting that babe with the cleavage that loves to cover herself in suds is... so... simple. You know... we haven't had a Women President yet...2012? |
