Manna from heaven CENTCOM Leaflet Gallery Am I the only one that finds the fact that we drop little propaganda leaflets in Iraq a little creepy? Second, I couldn't seem to find this leaflet on the official CENTCOM website for the little presents from the sky. It portrays a set of staring eyes with the phrase in Arabic: "Escaping to any place, hiding anywhere, will not prevent the coalition forces from finding you and bringing you to justice". It was distributed in Fallujah after the deaths of the civilian soldiers. If you can find this image, let me know. Also, I find it a little suspicious that several leaflets pictured on the website simply say "Image Not Available". I'm not invoking the "C" word but it seems kinda fishy that these images that were made and printed by CENTCOM can't be available to the people making the website, whereas others were. Last year, before the major fighting began, the US military dropped many of these leaflets informing Iraqis where to find information about the invasion as well as indicating that they should abandon Saddam and to not use Weapons of Mass Destruction. What was probably the most interesting one informed the Iraqis that "He lives in splendor, as your family struggles to survive", "he" was Saddam, in case you might have confused "him" with the numerous other people that live in splendor while millions struggle to survive. One other states that Iraqis should preserve the oil wells for their own prosperity. I wonder if they found that amusing? | |
