Fight the Smears

Barack Obama's campaign has launched a website to fight the smears that will come from the Republican shills.

Sadly, this kind of rebuttal strategy is a necessity when you are running as a Democrat against a Republican party devoid of new ideas. The Republican playbook has consisted of the same tired plays for as long as I can remember: empty promises of fiscal responsibility while dishing out government money to their cronies, blatant pandering to the religious right on issues of abortion and gays, and smears and lies from their legion of paid shills to attack the integrity of anyone running against their man.

While I think that McCain will have more integrity than Bush, who was a puppet from the beginning, there will no doubt be operatives on the Republican side who will attack Obama with all the vile and vitriol they have for Democrats, who they consider nearly subhuman.
